Pocono Raceway - Stock Car
Racing Experience
 
My family and I
recently went to the Pocono Raceway for the Stock Car Racing Experience.
This was part of my son's high school graduation present. I wanted a
present that he
 would remember forever and I believe that we found it.
I signed him up for the Super Speedway Ride Along package, an awesome ride in a two-seat stock car at high speeds. Since I was a bit
concerned for my son's safety, entering a stock car
with an experienced driver, I opted to go with
the 3 Lap package.
Upon arrival you
check in and then have the option to purchase a picture from an official
photographer. The picture came terrific and is an awesome
keepsake. Next
stop is to get suited
up in race gear and a helmet. You are then escorted to your car
where you slip through the window, get buckled in
and are off to the races! 
Family members are able to stand at the side of
the track to take pictures and watch the event. There are a number
of cars that are on the track at the same time so it kind of feels like
a race where you wait to see your car come past.
It turned out to be
one of the most memorable experiences of my son's life. He
absolutely loved it, proclaiming when he got out that on his next trip
he was going to drive a car himself. The smile on his face was
worth every dollar spent on this adventure. It was just as
exciting for the rest of us that were standing on the sidelines
watching. We were extremely happy to be able to give our son
such a unique present for his graduation.
We are from the
Philadelphia area and it took us a little over two hours to get there.
It was a very enjoyable day and well worth the trip. I would
highly recommend that you consider this as a present for a special
person.

Once you register for a
program you must sign up for a date and time. The Stockcar Ride Along at Pocono Raceway Experience is offered
on specific dates April thru October, subject to availability. Start Times
include 9:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM.

Ride Programs
This program gives you a passenger seat ride for either 3 laps
or 6 laps around the Pocono Raceway Track.
Drive Programs
This program gives you
instruction and then puts you behind the wheel of a stock car to drive.
Packages are available for 20 mile (8 laps), 40 mile (16 laps), 60 mile (24
laps) or 80 mile (32 laps). These packages range in price from $500 to $2000.

What to
Wear
You will be wearing a driving suit so you should dress
comfortably. Wear clothing that will fit under the suit. Light weight clothing
is best since the car does get very warm.
Closed-toed shoes are required
