Crystal Cave
is located in Kutztown, PA which is in the heart of Pennsylavania Dutch
Country.
The
temperature is a constant 54 degrees, so a jacket is required.
Note that from the main building there is a steep climb to the
cave
entrance.
You will find
in its five chambers, fabulous milky white stalactites,
stalagmites, pillars and dropstone formations. The cave is
actually a living, growing cave. The stalactites descending from
the ceiling, and the stalagmites that reach up from the ground
continue to slowly grow. Crystals, which give the cave its name,
actually line the walls of some of the 'rooms' in the cave.
You will find formations that resemble animals, bacon and eggs
and even an upside down ice cream cone.
Kids will
love Crystal Cave's sluice. You can purchase a special bag
of dirt and then work to clean and reveal an assortment of
surprises.
Miniature
golf is available for a nominal fee.
